Internal promotions reflect inclusion of all groups, including women, local resident and people with disabilities

What does this mean?

  • As above, this point should also be included in the business’ recruitment policy which should have a section on internal promotions.
  • Again there should be a fair proportion of promotions across the groups reflected in the business’ workforce.
  • The business cannot make the excuse that, for example, only men or women were qualified for the position.  If this is the case, then extra effort should be made to train different groups, especially those from previously disadvantaged minorities, to be able to take up higher level tasks in future.
