The business demonstrates commitment to employment of people with no previous work experience

What does this mean?

  • As a Fair Trade Tourism business, you are expected to make every effort to give all groups a fair chance of employment and this includes people with no previous work experience.
  • The business’ commitment to this should be described in the recruitment policy, specifically suggesting how these groups are included when advertising for positions and what percentage of people with no work experience can be taken in each year.
  • When the business commits to this it also needs to commit to training programs for these types of employees.
  • There are often tax incentives associated with employing people with no work experience, including graduates.  Refer to the SARS website each year to keep up to date with these incentives: www.sars.gov.za
