The business has a written policy on discrimination and how they manage this within the business

What does this mean?

  • The written discrimination policy needs to contain information on all the different minority groups that exist and explain why discrimination will not be tolerated in the workplace.
  • It should also describe what actions will be taken against those seen or believed to be practicing discrimination, including management.

What do I do?

  • There is an example of a discrimination policy in the Resource Centre.
  • Once the policy is finalised, it needs to be explained to all employees. This should be done at least on a yearly basis as well as when new employees are inducted.
