The business has a written recruitment policy

What does this mean?

  • The business has a written policy on recruitment which clearly describes the process of recruitment, how positions are advertised, how application is done and finally how people are selected and appointed.
  • It is strongly advised by FTT that this policy includes the hiring of disadvantaged and minority groups and gives preference to the hiring of people from local communities as far as possible.
  • This policy needs to be clearly communicated to all employees as well as to potential applicants.

What do I do?

  • It is recommended that the policy include the process for both in-house recruitment and external.
  • An example of a recruitment policy can be found in the Resource Centre.
