The business has developed a mechanism for reporting any breaches of the code of conduct by employees or guests and deals with this effectively

What does this mean?

  • There is no use having a code of conduct if it is not respected by guests and employees.
  • The code is designed to protect living cultures and cultural heritage sites and therefore needs to be adhered to.  This will ensure that the business maintains good relationships with local communities.
  • As such the business must develop a mechanism that can be used by the local communities, other guests and other employees to report any breach of this code.
  • Records need to be kept of such incidences and appropriate action taken.
  • When dealing with employees, the same system can be used as mentioned under disciplinary actions in A1.3
  • For guests however, this needs to be dealt with more sensitively.
