The business has developed a system for confidential reporting of any instances of discrimination

What does this mean?

  • The business needs to develop a system for reporting of instances of discrimination, which is also described in the policy.
  • The most important aspect here is that all employees are made aware of this system, feel safe to use it and understand that all information given is treated with the utmost confidentiality.

What do I do?

  • The reporting system could be as simple as a one pager documenting the incident. A blank template can be found in the Template Portal.
  • One of the managers should be made responsible for reporting so that employees are clear who to go to if they have a problem. It is important to also have a ‘back-up’ person in case the allocated manager is the one they want to report.
