The business has developed an environmental management plan (EMP) or environmental code of conduct

What does this mean?

  • As discussed in point D2.1, the business needs to draw up an EMP after it has conducted its ERA.
  • If the business is very small, an environmental code of conduct/policy/management system may also be acceptable.
  • The EMP needs to include clear actions on how the business plans to mitigate the negative environmental impacts the operations are having.
  • The EMP should be reviewed regularly depending on the size and scope of the operation, for example between 1 and 5 years.

What do I do?

Refer to the websites given in point D2.1 for more information on EMPs.

You will also find more information in the Resource Centre of D2.1, but more guidelines have also been included in this section.
