The business is in compliance with all national legislation and regulations with regards to workplace equity and diversity

What does this mean?

  • The most relevant legislation with reference to workplace equity and diversity in South Africa is the Employment Equity Act.
  • The Act states that all designated employers, i.e. those with 50 or more employees, must submit an annual Employment Equity (EE) Report.
  • As a Fair Trade business however you are encouraged to submit an Employment Equity Report even if you have less than 50 employees.
