The business keeps records of all skills training done

What does this mean?

  • As mentioned in various places in section A1, any training that is done with your employees needs to be recorded.
  • Skills trainings are those that were identified through the training needs assessment, but should at least include training on an employee’s roles and responsibilities in terms of environmental, social, cultural, economic, quality, health and safety issues.
  • Guest liaison is also an important topic that should not be overlooked.

What do I do?

  • If the training is done in-house, then a training register as per the template in the Template Portal (A1.3) is sufficient.
  • If the training is done externally the you need to keep a copy of the training register they used or a copy of each employee’s certificate if they received one.
