Volunteers do not discriminate against local residents and communities on any grounds

What does this mean?

  • The Code of Conduct also needs to deal with discrimination i.e. that volunteers are aware of this and do not discriminate against any local residents or communities.
  • Grounds for discrimination can include; gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, age, disability, social origin, etc.

What do I do?

  • The business needs to make sure volunteers are aware of the issue of discrimination, but also needs to monitor this and keep records of any instances.
  • It is suggested to use the same discrimination forms as mentioned in A1.3 but just make them applicable for volunteers as opposed to employees
