De Zalze Golf Club

With its manor house dating back to 1838, De Zalze Golf Club near Stellenbosch is named after three adjoining wine estates - Groote Zalze, Kleine Zalze and De Vleie. What sets De Zalze apart is its deep-rooted commitment to the founding pillars of Fair Trade - fair wages and working conditions; fair distribution of benefits; ethical business practices and respect for human rights, culture and the environment.

Located on the De Zalze Golf Estate, which offers residential homes in the midst of this prime wine-growing region, De Zalze Golf Club's landscape is breathtakingly beautiful, with the meandering oak-lined Blaauwklippen river winding through it and incredible views of the surrounding mountains at every turn. The club boasts a working wine farm on its estate and fairways surrounded by vineyards, lavender fields and olive groves. The Peter Matkovich-desgined golf course is a fine mix of parkland holes moving up and down the undulating valley, its main defences are water features on several of the holes, which are a variety of long and short from drivable par fours to monster par fives.
